Announcement

American Corner Khujand announces the first English Language classes for intermediate level. Only 10-12 participants can be at these classes, hurry up, first come- first serve!

Deadline for signing up 10th of August.

Purpose

Purpose:
American corners bringing America’s message to the world.
-to be a partner in promoting mutual understanding between the United States and Tajikistan
The fundamental function of the American Corner is to make information about the U.S. available to foreign publics at large. At a minimum, an American Corner should consist of a collection of books in English about the U.S. The book collection may include reference titles, works of fiction, business and government publications. American Corners also provide access to U.S. information through supervised Internet access, audio and video products, CDs, and CD-ROMS. Host institution personnel staff the Corners. Access to American Corner collection is free and open to all interested citizens of the host country. Local staff are fluent in English and demonstrate programming skills

In the American Corner Khujand you can:

get an open access to the AC resources, such as books on business and economics, political and social sciences, law and legislation, management and statistics, history and geography of the United States of America. Also available are various encyclopedias, dictionaries and reference materials.
Get free access to Internet and find more information about USA
take part in American holidays' parties and celebrate this holiday as a national holiday at American Corner
· visit our Discussion Club, where you have the possibility to hear real American speech and to learn some facts about the United States and life there
· take an active part in presentations of alumnus
· Learn about educational programs and have an opportunity to study in the USA
· To view the book exhibition
· To participate in community service activitiesTo watch an English language movie and discuss these movies.
